Invitation: May Book Club with Erica Djossa author of "Releasing the Mother Load"
The founder of MOMWELL joins us to talk about the impact of invisible labor
You may have seen this sneak peek post of our upcoming book club authors, and I’m thrilled to be bringing you a conversation next month with Erica Djossa, whose book Releasing the Mother Load came out this month. If you’ve followed me for any amount of time, you’ve almost certainly seen me share her fantastic graphics breaking down the invisible load.
Erica founded Momwell to set a standard of care for providers and ensure mom-centered, specialized mental health support at any stage of motherhood. Her new book Releasing the Mother Load is a guidebook that teaches moms how to unlearn intensive mothering expectations and free themselves from the burdens of mental labor.
She does a beautiful job blending the cultural conditioning explaining why we carry the invisible load and practical advice for how we can create substantial change to those expectations and norms that haunt us.
Erica is a phenomenal writer, speaker, and all around human and I can’t wait to have her as our guest author for The Angry Woman Book Club on Wednesday, May 8th at 11:30am PT/ 2:30pm ET.
As many of us parents enter the gauntlet that is May (especially with school-aged kids), I know this talk will be so incredibly valuable. You can add it to your calendar with the zoom link included below:
If you have questions for either of us, you can ask them during the live Q&A or ask them in the comments here. A recording will be made available for paid subscribers who can’t attend live.
