I am SO CLOSE to the finish line on my first complete draft of No One Loves An Angry Woman. The plan is to send it off to my editor before the end of the school year or maybe a little earlier. Then I will be moving into editing and the daunting how do I get people to read this book phase of existential crisis. If you’ve got any good tips on book marketing, pre-order campaigns you’ve seen and loved, or a bookstore you’d like me to visit on tour, let me know!
NEW! 6-month coaching package: $2000 ($4000 yearly)
A manuscript takes the time it takes, which is why I am opening new coaching spots for once a month meetings and up to 8,000 words of developmental editing work each month. I’m opening this option primarily for writers working on full manuscripts, so you can work at a sustainable rate, and aim to get a full novel or nonfiction manuscript done over the course of a year.
If you’re interested in working together, I offer free 30-minute consultations so we can see if we’re a good fit before you commit. Book in now if you’re interested.

WBUR reposted the fan-favorite Emotional Labor episode of Dear Sugars featuring yours truly. Even after all this time, it’s still one of my faves because
is such a thoughtful interviewer. Also, it’s really nice to meet your heroes and realize they’re even better than you expected.“I want to get to a point where my story doesn’t have to be of service” - I did my first reading from “No One Loves and Angry Woman” at the Truckee Lit Crawl and it got me to reflect on how I hide behind the usefulness of my story. “So often I justify writing difficult things because that writing can help others. I find myself thinking of my lived experience as a mirror in which people can see themselves reflected. Superimpose their own stories over my own. I write myself into invisbility, even in my most vulnerable moments.”
Upcoming Events
Nothing much on the horizon until the Davidson Institute Family Retreat this summer, but I am booking speaking engagements for Fall 2025 and beyond. If you’re looking for someone to speak or run workshops on the mental load, emotional labor, and unlearning harmful cultural conditioning, please reach out!

This substack on implementing Stoop Coffee in the neighborhood was so interesting and lovely.
I love the brave and vulnerable work
has been sharing around how she and her publisher got divorced after a big book deal and multiple drafts of the manuscript. I am obsessed with more transparency around publishing.
In the same vein,
has been sharing in depth about her book launch for We Need Your Art, and getting into all the nitty gritty numbers. Its eye-opening to see that even having a half-million IG followers doesn’t equal instant success and bestseller lists!I’m currently reading
’s book Unfit Parent, and loved listening to her on ’s Burnt Toast Podcast this month.
- has a book proposal bootcamp coming up next month - get registered today!
LOVED this episode of The Longing Lab with
on Modern Friendship.
Thank you for the shout out!!! xoxo
