Really, the BIGGEST and only news is that I finished my first full draft of No One Loves An Angry Woman. I knew I had finished because I broke down into full body sobs as soon as I closed the document — all the energy I had been doling out in a steady stream suddenly freed. I didn’t realize how much I was holding back until I was no longer holding it so tightly.
I haven’t looked at the manuscript since that moment, but some of my favorite peers are reading it now, giving me vital notes that will help make it better. The editing process starts in late July, then it will be out of my hands for good come September.
If you want to celebrate this milestone with me, the best way is by subscribing to this newsletter. If you already subscribe, thank you! Maybe you’ll share a favorite post? Or hell, a congratulations goes a long way too. This book was a lot to write, and I loved the process of writing it almost as much as I cried over it (so much!).

I somehow just got around to reading Dear Writer by
, and cannot recommend it highly enough — if just for the syllabus alone. I wrote 4(!) new poems, at least two of them decent, during the weekend I read it.Currently obsessed with the Chocolate Chip Pain Au Lait from Trader Joe’s. With a cup of tea, enjoyed outside before it gets too hot out? Perfection.
Nice sunscreen is the splurge I didn’t know I needed, but it makes a beach day so much better (it doesn’t leak into my eyes, doesn’t give me breakouts, and it smells so good).
Ahhh thanks for the shout out and a massive congratulations on finishing your second book! You're an inspiraion.
